I’m hunkered down for a weekend of snow. Today it alternated between sleet, snow, and freezing rain. I can’t see out of my windows right now because of the thick, wavy ice. Tonight and tomorrow should be all snow, possibly feet of snow.
But this is nothing compared to what my parents are getting. Here’s the salient part of their blizzard warning from the National Weather Service.
THIS WILL BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU LEAVE THE SAFETY OF INDOORS…YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK. TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED TONIGHT AND SUNDAY.
Eek! That sounds… severe. I’ll be getting some of that here, too. This kind of reminds me of what happened here last week. I wish I had that kind of warning last week. While running around to just get a few things done, I got caught in the snow… three times. It doesn’t help that I was driving around trying to find a place I had never been to before… and taking forever to find it. Next time, I’ll look at a map, and be sure to check the forecast.
Yikes. Sounds like not very much fun!
I woke up to the see the weather news (once the cable was back up) and thought about you.
Take care!
Well, I’m taking it as an excuse to have a “snow day” even thought it’s a weekend. I’m curling up under blankets, drinking cocoa, and generally having a grand old time (until I do my taxes later… then I won’t be so pleased).
