While I was “off line”:
- Steven Cohen became a father (again). Congratulations Steven! (CUTE pictures here.)
- I heard that ALA will be providing wi-fi (via the Liminal Librarian)! That is VERY cool. I won’t be there, but this is definitely a step in the right direction for ALA and all conferences.
- Library Marketing taught me not to pack too many promotions into a single email.
- I started thinking about what constitute “knowledge behaviors” (via Stephen’s Lighthouse)
I also clipped a whole bunch of really thought-provoking posts (library blogs were definitely active while I was away) that I’ll be reading, digesting, and thinking about today. Two of these are Lorcan Dempsey’s post of federated searching, John Blyberg’s post on the SocialPAC. Man, this is a GREAT time to be a librarian!
Hi, Iris!
I just wanted to say I’m glad that you’re finding some things on Library Marketing to be helpful! I’ve been reading your blog and just wanted to say how much I appreciate your enthusiasm for all things librarian! Your one post also prompted to me to get working on getting a tag cloud up on my blog (hopefully, I can revamp it a bit this summer…). Anyway, thanks for reading! :)
Thanks Iris! I hope you had a relaxing time offline. More pictures coming…
Hi Jill, I just love tweaking my blog. I wish I were a little better at it… but I’m learning as I go. I’ve found the tag cloud to be a useful tool because I use my blog in part to think through issues I’m engaged with at work. It’s been so helpful to click on the little “Catalog” tag and get an instant list of all the times I wrote about the catalog, and all the blog entries I linked to. That’s basically how I did my research for my last presentation. :)
Hi Steven! Great blogger picture. I hope everything’s going well and that Ari is letting you guys sleep at least a little bit. :P
