Banning Skinniness? Cool!

Madrid has enacted “the world’s first ban on overly thin models,” according to the Washington Post (and the Times, and just about every other newspaper out there). Women are considered “underweight” with a BMI of 18.5, but Madrid has given its models a little wiggle room by allowing them to be as low as 18.

They’ve got along way to go before high fashion will fit onto any real women, but this is definitely a start.
